Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27 He enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. Alongside his appearance in the drama show telecast worldwide as The Killing, he subsequently appeared in two other internationally well-known Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a prominent part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He played the role of the Russian president in the American television series House of Cards. He won an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his role on the Danish drama on television Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German as well as Danish in addition to his mother tongue. He also has picked up several accents. Mikkelsen stated that he and his brother learned English initially through listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
