
Leona Louise Lewis (born 3 April 1985) is a British musician, singer, actress and activist. Born in Islington, a part of the London Borough of Islington, she went to in the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis was recognized as a national star by winning the third season of The X Factor 2006 and got a deal worth PS1,000,000 and Syco music. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a 5-album deal for the United States. The success of Lewis continued after the album release of her first studio album, Spirit (2007), which received a platinum certification of 10x in the UK and became the fourth-highest-selling album of the 2000s , and also one of the albums that sold the highest in UK chart record-setting. According to the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the most successful 21st century album of debut by a female artist. The album's lead track, "Bleeding Love", was a seven-week standout at number 1 in the UK and was the most-sold single in the year 2007. It also was the top-selling single in the US the same year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the following year. Echo was her sophomore studio album. She also wrote the hit song "I Love You" on behalf of Avatar. Lewis' hit single "Collide," was a collaboration between Swedish DJ Avicii and she also released Hurt The EP, her first play that was extended. Her album Glassheart, her third studio effort, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis who draws the inspiration of dubstep and electronic music. In the course of her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began the process of recording for her first Christmas album. Christmas with Love was released later in the year. Its opening track, "One More Sleep" reached the top spot at three within the UK. Lewis is who is a British solo female artist made history by becoming the first female artist to reach the Top Five with eight singles. This surpasses Olivia Newton John's record which was seven.
